Olly Ashmore
Composer/Lyricist/Musical Supervisor

Olly graduated with an honours degree in composition from the Royal Academy of Music. As a composer Olly has written a number of musicals including Forever Eve, Fantastic Mr Fox and Look Back, a children's musical commissioned for the millennium celebrations at the Dome in Greenwich. He has also composed original scores for Snow White, Cinderella and Jack and the Beanstock for Qdos Entertainment which have played in dozens of venues nationwide over the last five years. He has written scores for several plays including The Mysteries, Measure for Measure, The Suicide and Great Expectations. He also composed the score for the BBC series On Your Marks, and wrote additional music for the BBC shows Going Live, The Friday Zone, The Poops, The Demon Headmaster, Aladdin and The Big Bash, which was also staged live at the NEV in Birmingham. Olly has arranged music for This Morning (ITV) and composed scores for the short films The Time Tangle (LWT) and Gorilla in the Roses, premiered at BBC Short Film Festival. As a resident Musical Director and Conductor, Olly worked on the West End productions of Fame and Grease and as Musical Associate on Peggy Sue Got Married, starring Ruthie Henshall. Olly has orchestrated and musically supervised numerous European productions of Grease as well as two new productions of Hair in Berlin and Paris. He supervised and arranged the score for the current UK and world tours of Boogie Nights and its sequel Boogie Nights 2 (starring David Essex), Eternal Flame, Thames TV's Rainbow, the UK/Australian stage versions of Happy Days and A Slice of Saturday Night at the RAM. Regional theatre credits as Arranger and Musical Director include Love Forever True (Worcester), Who Killed Cock Robin (Farnham), Lovely Lady in Windsor and The Wizard of Oz, in Richmond, St Albans and Cambridge. He was Musical Director on the European production of The Rocky Horror Show and The Golden Musicals of Broadway. He has appeared as a guest Musical Director on TV shows for RTE and UTV in Ireland, at the Opera House in Blackpool and the Hackney Empire. He has directed music for the BBC's Talking Telephone Numbers and The Generation Game. He has also been Musical Associate on the Royal Variety Performance produced by LWT and recently arranged and produced the music for Covergirls, a new Las Vegas revue.
