Gower Champion won the Tony and Drama Desk Awards for his dances in 42nd Street. Mr. Champion’s name is synonymous with some of the greatest musicals in Broadway history. He was the director and choreographer for Lend An Ear, Bye, Bye Birdie (for which he received Tony Awards as director and choreographer), Carnival! (Tony nomination), Hello, Dolly! (Tony Awards for direction and choreography), I Do! I Do! (Tony nomination), The Happy Time (two more Tony Awards), and Mack & Mabel.
